Transparency: an artistic exploration of mental health

Description

Two New York City based artists are taking submissions for artwork for a month-long, group exhibition concerning themes of mental health. Selected work will focus on experiences of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, P.T.S.D., etc. Through this exhibition we seek to highlight individual artists’ perspectives regarding the topic, so that we can open space for a much-needed conversation on the overlap of art and mental health.

Requirements

- Submitted work must be framed or stretched on canvas.
- Media expected: 2D work. (Unfortunately, we are unable to support 3D work).
- Must be complete, dry, and ready to hang by June 7, 2017.
- Must be sensitive to the subject.
- No size limitation.

Submission details To submit work, send high-resolution images (up to three) to demivera@gmail.com and halilinnwhelan@gmail.com by midnight May 31, 2017. Please include a statement and short bio. Send payment of $10 through Venmo @hali-linn. Work that has been submitted without payment being received will not be considered.
