Petite Magnitude is a series where I investigate the canonical genre of portraiture and the historical male gaze in order to examine the effects the gaze has on a subject experiencing being looked at when she does not fully grasp the context with which she is being seen. I am interested in the awkward stages of girlhood when sexuality is perceived, how and by whom, and how the person contextualizes her own and others’ perception of those changes.
